Join Ivy Tech Community College as an Adjunct - Art History faculty member. Ivy Tech Bloomington is searching for part-time Art History adjunct faculty to teach on campus. Courses include ARTH101 (Survey of Art and Culture I), ARTH102 (Survey of Art and Culture II), and ARTH110 (Art Appreciation). Adjuncts are eligible to teach up to 13 contact hours per week at $46.75 per contact hour. Applicants must have a master's degree or higher and include an unofficial copy of transcripts with their application. GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Adjunct Faculty create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment. Major Responsibilities: Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. Develop/maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning. Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner. Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments. Conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views. Minimum Qualifications: Possess an earned master's or higher degree in art or art history from a regionally accredited institution. Alternatively, possess an earned master's or higher degree in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in art or art history. Required Competencies: Experience working with learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard. Proficiency with technology in the classroom.
