Job Description

Women's Ready to Wear brand is seeking a detail-driven, creatively resourceful Assistant Designer to support its design team. This is an exceptional opportunity to be hands-on in the development of seasonal collections and custom pieces, working closely with experienced creatives on a highly collaborative team. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of experience (internships or industry) in fashion design, strong visual communication skills, and a sharp understanding of construction, color, and textile development. You'll be involved in every step-from sketch revisions to trim sourcing and photoshoot prep-so an organized, self-motivated approach is key. This is a full-time, on-site position in New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in researching seasonal inspirations and fabric techniques Help develop original surface treatments, including prints and embellishments Render digital sketches and help with sketch revisions during design process Attend fittings and log detailed notes and photos Source local trims and support vendor communication Maintain organized design records, binders, and development sheets Assist with preparations for photoshoots and on-set support Stay aligned with team timelines and maintain clear internal communication

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design Passion about luxury and ready to wear At least 1 year of professional experience or 2+ internships in a design-related role Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator (InDesign & Excel a plus) Strong understanding of garment construction and color theory Excellent digital sketching and iPad illustration skills preferred Strong organization and time management skills Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through Team-oriented mindset with ability to work independently PRTNR Recruiting
