Job Description

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to provide valuable support within an educational setting serving both elementary and middle school students. This onsite, contract position offers a 35-hour workweek and is based in Pahokee, FL, working throughout the school year.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting occupational therapists in implementing therapy plans tailored to students' needs
• Supporting students to develop skills necessary for successful participation in school activities
• Monitoring and documenting student progress
• Collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to optimize therapeutic outcomes
• Adapting strategies to accommodate individual student requirements within classroom settings

Preferred qualifications:

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience working with elementary and middle school-aged children
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of school-based therapy practices and educational environments
