Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The CRA Department Assistant will support the CRA Service and Small Business Lending Officer, assist in the development of CRA initiatives, service events and work with non-profits and ensure all processes are aligned with the Community Reinvestment Act laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the VP CRA Services & SB Lending Officer in:
  • Increase the origination of Small Business Loans.
  • Penetrate the Osceola and Orange County markets where the bank can partner and service together with the local non-profits.
  • Schedule and coordinate all BBA CRA service/volunteer events.
  • Keep track of donations and sponsorships
  • Keep track of service hours for all volunteers, keep track of CRA service Worksheets for all volunteers.
  • Maintain service memos, volunteer service logs, community partner profiles, and donation / invoice requests per established procedures.
  • In alignment with the VP CRA Service, will serve as a key point of contact for community organizations, businesses and others regarding community interests and concerns within assigned geographic area to include identifying credit and services needs of the community.
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets for presentation to the bank’s Board of Directors and CRA Committee.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists colleagues with projects or tasks when needed.
  • Acts as resource center for all personnel. If unable to resolve issues immediately, assume responsibility for follow-up and callback within a reasonable period of time.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Perform other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or related discipline from qualified college or university; minimum of two years’ experience in the banking industry.

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from directors, managers, clients (both internal and external) and the general public; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing; Portuguese and Spanish highly recommended
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in various computer software and banking applications
  • In depth knowledge of all bank policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality, security and safekeeping of bank and customer information
  • Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
  • Takes responsibility for own actions; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; ability to multitask
