Job Description We are seeking a Design Release Engineer focused on Air Intake Systems, based in Auburn Hills. The Air Intake System Product Design and Release Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating air intake systems for internal combustion engine and hybrid electrified vehicles. Components include low-pressure ducts, air cleaners, make-up air hoses, resonators, air filters, brackets, and high-pressure charge ducts. The engineer will manage a set of air intake systems throughout various development stages, including packaging, design, and execution to meet system, engine, and vehicle objectives. Activities involve CAD design coordination, CAE analysis, prototyping, testing, and documentation. Support for sourcing activities, supplier management, and milestone tracking will be required, along with adherence to best practices such as DFMEA and DVP&R to mitigate risks. Occasional onsite support at engine and vehicle assembly plants is expected. Additional responsibilities include addressing quality concerns, process validation, and cost reduction activities post-launch. Requirements Role will be 80% ONSITE in Auburn Hills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead and manage suppliers Proven ability to handle multiple activities concurrently Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to drive company or rental cars Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% Knowledge of air intake systems and components Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders Ability to operate independently in a remote or hybrid work environment Basic knowledge of CAD design, spreadsheets, presentations, DFMEAs, and DVP&R Familiarity with CATIA V5, Unigraphics NX, Vis Mockup, TeamCenter, and PDF tools Preferred Qualifications 2+ years experience with air intake systems or related testing (NVH, Rise-Over Ambient, Water-fording, etc.) Experience with plastics manufacturing and tooling, especially injection and blow-molding Knowledge of Stellantis systems and processes Green Belt or similar in DFSS or quality tools Familiarity with powertrain software and controls Proficiency with UG/NX CAD systems Company Overview: LER TechForce, founded in 2001, has grown to over 350 engineers and is backed by LHP Engineering Solutions.
