Job Summary We are seeking an EKG Technician to perform electrocardiogram studies, confirm physician orders, explain procedures to patients, transmit and process ECG data, maintain supplies, and ensure a professional patient experience. Responsibilities Confirm physician’s order prior to performing the study. Explain testing procedure to patients. Transmit and process ECG from cart to computer system. Maintain adequate inventory of supplies to operate efficiently. Perform requested study skillfully and carefully. Maintain a good rapport with patients, staff, and visitors. Requirements One (1) year of related experience required. Technical aptitude to interpret physician orders and utilize electrocardiograph equipment. High level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients and coordinate with medical, nursing, technical, and other staff. Ability to perform electrocardiograms on neonatal patients. Light typing ability to produce simple reports, letters, and records. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (85% of work time) and push equipment carts throughout the hospital.
