Mechanical Design Engineer

Project Engineer located in Lexington, NC

On-site 5 days a week with potential for 1 remote day per week

Pay: $85k-$95k base + 10% annual bonus

Position Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet the specified requirements and are delivered on time and within budget. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize mechanical systems in the food manufacturing sector, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop and review mechanical designs using AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout project phases.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve process efficiency and product quality.
  • Oversee the selection and specification of thermal equipment and capital equipment related to food manufacturing.
  • Conduct welding and sheet metal work as needed for project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, OR SolidWorks.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) and project documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with thermal equipment and welding techniques would be a bonus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
