At the level of IOM Technologist – Intra- Operative\nSpecialist it is expected that the individual show self-direction and\ninitiative with minimal supervision. The basic elements of EEG and EP\nacquisition already should be mastered. Artifact detection/elimination skills\nalready should be mastered. Advanced techniques are mastered and applied\nindependently at this level, such as intra-operative monitoring of complex\nprocedures. The technologist should be able to describe EEG and EP findings to\njunior faculty in a review style format. IOM Technologists must be flexible\nenough to learn new and advanced protocols when needed. IOM Technologists\nshould serve as resources for junior staff. They are also expected to take\nresponsibility for certain specific aspects of laboratory organization and\nserve as the lead lab team member in those individual areas of responsibility.\nIOM Technologist – Intra-Operative Specialist will maintain registration\ncredentials as a Certified Neurological Intra-operative Monitorist (CNIM). They are also expected to acquire continuing\neducation units as recommended by the national accrediting body in the field,\nand keep up to date in changes and advances in the field.
A minimum of three years of experience in the related\nfields is required for the PRN EEG title. Those who do not meet those\nrequirements will be considered for the EEG or Senior Technologist title based\non credentials.
Salary Range EEG Tech: $41.60 - $54.87
Salary Range Senior EEG Tech: $45.06 - $59.45
Salary Range: IOM (Principle EEG) Technologist: $59.64 -\n$78.69
