Senior DevOps Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Digital Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure along with performant and flexible CI/CD pipelines. You will leverage your expertise in cloud-native technologies and automation to empower our application teams and ensure the smooth operation of our critical systems. 
Key Responsibilities
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable and resilient infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, EMR, S3, VPC, Bedrock, Sagemaker, Cloud Formation, SNS, SQS, and Load Balancers.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Implement and manage containerization solutions with Containerd, and orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes, specifically within AWS EKS.
• Database Operations: Support and optimize Cassandra databases, including experience with Datastax Astra, ensuring high availability and performance.
• CI/CD Pipeline Development & Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, incorporating quality gates with Sonarqube, and managing artifacts with Nexus. 
• Infrastructure as Code (IaaC): Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration across both non-production and production environments using Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions with Dynatrace for both logs and metrics, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues. Utilize AWS Cloudwatch for cloud resource monitoring.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure our infrastructure and pipelines adhere to security best practices and compliance standards, including AWS PCI compliance.
• Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools primarily using Python to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
• Environment & Test Data Management: Collaborate with teams to provision and manage non-production and production environments, and oversee test data management processes, leveraging Catalyst for both.
• Data Analytics Support: Provide operational support for data analytics platforms, including AWS EMR.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar role, with a focus on cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in AWS services: EC2, EKS, Lambda, Load Balancer, S3, Cloudwatch, EMR and containerization technologies, especially Containerd and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Cassandra and Datastax Astra.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Sonarqube, and Nexus.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible.
• Advanced Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms, ideally Dynatrace (logs and metrics).
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI).
• Familiarity with environment provisioning and test data management platforms 
• Demonstrable understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts, with practical experience or a strong desire to apply these to operations (AIOps, MLOps).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems.
• Proven ability to analyze complex system issues and propose intelligent, automated solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
