**Overview:**

AMOT, founded in 1948, is a leading global manufacturer of control, safety and hazardous area solutions for engines, compressors, turbines and other rotating equipment in the oil and gas, marine, power generation and transportation industries. Our product families include valves, electric and pneumatic instrumentation, control and condition monitoring systems and hazardous area safety products.

**Summary:**

The AMOT Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for supporting the receiving and shipping functions on a daily basis. The workdays will be split between the two functions. The first half of the day will be spent supporting the operations team and the last half of the day will support customer deliveries.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Receiving:

+ Place incoming material into Arrived Status in MRP system.

+ Confirm part quantity matches PO quantity.

+ Will learn to inspect parts to Engineering documents standards and specifications.

+ Receive purchase orders into the MRP system once parts are verified as acceptable.

+ Will learn to complete First Article Inspections as required.

+ Will learn to complete NCRs for non-conforming material.

+ Work priorities when notified to support customer and/or production needs.

+ Work with Quality Engineer and Quality Analyst as needed.

* Shipping:

+ Utilizing the MRP system reports, determine daily stock inventory items that need to be picked and shipped.

+ Prepares pick lists and delivery notes for daily shipments. If errors exist, coordinate actions to correct.

+ Assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents by carefully auditing.

+ Assemble packaging materials and packages merchandise per instructions, in preparation for shipment.

+ Utilizes networked shipping systems through UPS and Fed-Ex to process ground and freight shipments.

+ Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the companys MRP system and into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers (UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL, etc). Prepare export documentation as required for international shipments.

+ Notifies consignee of shipment information to other offices and/or agents as needed.

+ Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.

+ Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.

+ Initiates, answers & documents tracer inquiries when requested via email and/or fax.

+ Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages when requested.

+ Processes daily invoices in MRP system.

+ In conjunction with supervisor, will be responsible for all outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.

+ Coordinate with customer service team to resolve ship instructions or customer requests when required.

+ Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures.

+ Gather, enter into MRP system and/or internal Network, and maintain all data and records relative to shipping activities.

+ Monitor the supply of packaging materials and requisition additional supplies as required.

+ Complete necessary management reports as required.

+ Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Manager.

**Education and Experience:**

* 2 years experience in Receiving of manufactured and purchased parts with the ability to learn receiving inspection.

* High School diploma or GED required.

* Minimum 2 years experience in the use of general metrology equipment found in a light engineering environment (includes height gauges, verniers, calipers etc.).

* MS Office experience required and working knowledge of MRP system, IFS is a plus.

* Experience with computerized dispatch shipping systems (UPS, Fedex, DHL).

* Previous shipping experience is preferred.

**Knowledge and Skills:**

* Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral, and inter-personal.

* Knowledge of the valve, casting, machining, and PCB industry is a plus.

* Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks and pass certification.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

* Ability to communicate fluently in English.

* **Physical Requirements:** This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling activities There is pushing and lifting/carrying of boxes weighing 50 lbs. Average vision and hearing is sufficient. This position is physically demanding.

* **Working Conditions:** Individual will generally be working in the production area. Noise levels encountered will vary from heavy machining to minimum noise level. Likewise, individual may be exposed to fumes from chemicals, paints, and assembly glues in the manufacturing areas. Please refer to the MSDS Notebook in this department for specific details regarding chemical exposure.
