Special Education Extensive Support Needs Consultant - Regional Professional Development Center Join to apply for the Special Education Extensive Support Needs Consultant - Regional Professional Development Center role at Southeast Missouri State University Position Overview The Southeast Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) has been housed on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University since 1996. The Center serves approximately 84 school districts in the southeast region, providing ongoing training programs for teachers and administrators. Primary Responsibilities Collaborate with placement facilities and LEA staff to deliver quality educational services Assist LEAs in understanding placement options to ensure Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) for students with Extensive Support Needs Train educators in implementing evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices Support LEAs with classroom and individual supports, communication devices, and accessibility tools Deliver professional development using DESE-approved materials Develop training materials and Virtual Learning Platform Modules Provide technical assistance on topics like High Leverage Practices, Map-A, DLM, and assistive technology Support post-secondary transition planning for students with extensive support needs Participate in meetings and statewide training events as required Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree with certification in Special Education At least 5 years of experience as a special education teacher in a school setting Strong meeting management, collaboration, and technical assistance skills Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions Experience with assessments like MAP-A and DLM Understanding of IDEA, MTSS, LRE, and related policies Application Details & Deadline Deadline: June 6, 2025.
