Job Details Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and as-needed, that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
3. Analyze production costs and recommend changes.
4. Work closely with the production team to understand and manage raw material and labor costs.
5. Coordinate physical inventory counts and perform cycle counts.
6. Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
7. Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
8. Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.
9. Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories.
10. Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
11. Analyze capital budgeting requests.
12. Perform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A Master's degree or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
4. Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and MS Excel.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
6. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Strong communication and presentation skills.
9. Proven knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
10. Familiarity with financial statement preparation.
11. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
12. Ability to work well with a team and collaborate with various departments.
