We're looking for a f ull-time Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our team. The legal assistant / paralegal will help with all parts of the Social Security disability claims process. We are willing to hire a ready-trained paralegal, or an early-career legal assistant willing to learn and train towards working as a paralegal. More than half of our paralegals have started as legal assistants, usually with primary responsibility for answering phones and speaking with clients, and progressed towards more senior roles. 

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:45pm

Legal Assistant / Paralegal Duties and Responsibilities

Our team helps with all parts of the Social Security disability claims process. We desire paralegals that are responsible enough to draft important reports and letters with statutory deadlines; willing to represent our firm to clients and the government in a professional manner; and enthusiastic about completing routine office tasks like folding mail and calling clients.

Our paralegals handle a variety of tasks, including: 

• Speaking with clients and Social Security Administration representatives
• Preparing correspondence, drafting routine letter briefs, and completing dictation
• Scheduling appointments and maintaining a detailed calendar
• Maintaining and organizing files; updating files with case status and information
• Conducting discovery and collecting evidence
• Adhering to submission deadlines through organized task lists and timely completing tasks

Legal Assistant Qualifications

We require attitude and aptitude. We will train you for specific skills. Please only apply if you have a valid drivers license or reliable means of transportation.
