Job Description

A full-time social worker is needed to cover a leave of absence at a middle school in Highwood, IL, through October 17. This contract position offers the opportunity to support students and staff in a dynamic educational setting, focusing on the social-emotional well-being of middle school students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop support plans and interventions
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and connect families with appropriate resources
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of positive school climate initiatives
• Maintain confidential records in accordance with professional and legal standards

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Social Work with licensure or certification appropriate for school settings
• Experience working with middle school-aged youth in educational or clinical environments
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage crisis situations and implement intervention strategies
